Sports
It amazes me how we, as a human race, decided that sports is worth millions if not billions. We decided that it's worth it to pay a person 10 or more million dollars a year to play a game.
Don't get me wrong, I do like sports. It just blew my mind that what started as a game, becomes a multi billion entertainment industry.
But, I guess, it feeds one of our basic element. A sense of family; a social community. When we have a team that we root for, then we declare ourselves as part of a social family. We are a social being. I believe the proportion of studies that agrees to the previous statement is much enormous compared to studies that disagree with it. Considering if, there are studies that can disapprove that we are social being.
Now, to waste your time, my time, and this space even more, here's a thought:
Do people who are more fanatic about sports, have a strong or a weak family ties? Is there a relation between the strength of a person's family bond with what he/she considers a family, to the intensity of feelings about his/her preferred sport?
Mind boggling? No. Just another space on the internet wasted.
