humble

"No matter how good you are, there's always someone better"

Has anyone ever said that to the MJs (both Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan)?

That phrase is use a lot when someone gets too cocky. The idea is to be humble because someone else could be better than you. Yeah, sure. Please somebody tells that to Wayne Gretzky. Preferrably, in front of hockey fanatics group of more than 10 people. Let me know how many bone fractures you have after.

I think you should be humble for the sake of humility. Anticipating somebody else is better than me, means I could still be cocky, just not showing it cause I'm afraid that my butt might get kicked. If I find out that the other person is not better than me, then I'll be cocky again because I don't have humility.

Humble for the sake of humility just works out better. You become a better person because you'll always be learning even from the ones you don't think is better than you. And, you don't pissed off other people.

Conclusion? Another 4kb of internet space wasted.

(Well, technically, this occupies almost 1.5 kb but the way computer saves it, made it to about 4kb. At least the way my computer and my operating system saves it. Don't know what system blogger has. Welcome to my geek world. I am, after all, a fountain of useless information)

religion.org; ain't heaven

Someone mentioned in the last blog comment about organized religion. I read it around midnight. Midnight is when my brain start to work; aimlessly. Darn it. Now that made me think: why organized religion? That reminded me also of a college prof I had. She mentioned that anarchy can work.

I agree. Anarchy can work. But. It works when everything goes perfect or near perfect. However, reality is, we are not perfect and do not live in a perfect world. To me, organization is like a knife. Depending who uses it. Can be used for good, or it can be used for hurting people for your own advantage.

Any concept of spirituality has some kind of hierarchy. It's part of being a social organism. In religions that I know, there's always a greater diety and a lesser diety hierarchial structure where the greater diety rules the lesser diety one way or another.

Organization is part of human life. Sure the effect can be bad. But that doesn't mean we should abandon/forbid any sharp object in human race.

If there's no organized religion, history that contains valuable lessons for human will be more easily skewed or just totally messed up. Organized religion makes it easier for humans to practice their faith. Again, we are a social being and social being needs some kind of organization. I really don't think anarchy is the way to go unless all humans agree to love one another.

Maybe that's heaven. A place where no organize religion or any organization is needed anymore. No hatred, envy, racism, prejudice, etc to screw up peace and order. Just love floating and engulfing each human being. Really. Just . . . Love.

. . . (meanwhile realizing I live in a world where organization replaces love)

Sleep sounds really good now. I can hope I dream of heaven . . .
